Special Characters

These are the codes for special characters to show up on your web pages. The codes are what I've used to show a < (less than symbol). To do this you would need to use <

For instance, just to show the < above, I needed to use &

OBJECT
How the actual item would appear.
DESCRIPTION
The OBJECT Briefly described.
NUM CODE
The code, in numbers, used to show the OBJECT
ALPHA CODE
The code, in letters, used to show the OBJECT
ALT CODE
To show the OBJECT without using an &XX; code, you could use the ALT CODE. To do this you would make sure the NUM LOCK for the number key pad is ON, then HOLD the ALT key on your keyboard and type the numbers needed. There are duplicate codes, these are but one set.
CHARACTER MAP
If it is installed on your computer you can for the Windows® Character Map program that can show you the codes as well.
Windows must be on the C:\ for this link to work.
Netscape users: It will probably ask you where to save it.

 ¹Euro € € ²CTRL + 2

¹ - This is only going to show up if you use the "NUM CODE".

² - Character Map (the program) says that this will show up using CTRL + 2 (holding Control and pressing the number 2). I have not been able to get that to work. Although, I'm using other programs that use "HOT KEYS", so they may be blocking out the CTRL + 2 option.
