In Yahoo and other chat rooms, we meet many people from the USA and around the world. Some of the encounters are brief with no words 'spoken', while others are lasting relationships. We supplement chat with ICQ--sending messages (many are forwarded 'junk' mail), URLs, and files of all kinds. In chat, we can fake a personality, we can play wave files, we can type with varying colors and fonts, and we can be silly, quiet, or LOUD. We can also be open and share our real tears and joys with each other. Some of these people become a part of our daily lives. The effect may be so intense, that we talk of our chat buddies to our families and friends who do not chat.
Even though many of those we meet cease to chat, their touch on our lives is enduring. The poetry, prose, and 'junk messages' on this page reflects the messages sent to me by one of these friends. p.g., a.k.a. Pgunde, a.k.a. Atlan (I won't use the real name to protect the innocent...hehe), shared these through ICQ messages. Some were written by p.g., some were not, while others do not indicate the author's identity. Most were sent prior to Christmas '97, as you'll note by the subject of many of the messages. I may not agree, nor do I grasp the author's meaning either, with all the messages.
The messages are divided into these general areas:
I have not taken time to edit nor create lavish backgrounds/fonts for each message, for my objective is to share p.g.'s love of poetry & prose. Please let me know of misspelled words and/or duplicated messages.
I realize that some of p.g.'s thoughts may strike a common chord in someone's soul. Someone who wishes to give the proper honor due the words by creating special pages with music, and backgrounds, and animated gif files.
